"Talk to the Glaive"

Films: Krull (1983)

Alias: The Beast, the Slayers, the Crystal Spider

Type: Alien (Mystical for the Spider)

Location: Desert/Civilized area/Eldritch location/Forest/Cave

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of an average human to that of a small house.

Affiliation: Neutral (Spider), Evil (the rest)

Summary: In a land where Star Wars never existed, there is endless adventure and excitement in the world of Krull. Or at the very least, moderate excitement.

History: Long ago, the world of Krull was invaded by the arrival of the Black Fortress, a teleporting structure housing the tyrannical Beast, and his army of slayers. They lay siege to all who oppose them, and only the brave prince Colwyn can save us all with his trusty Glaive. He also meets some nice folk such as a cyclops and some fire-wielding mares, and his mentor has a wife living in a self-inflicted prison guarded by a giant crystal spider.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The Beast is eventually slain when he not only gets a Glaive to the chest, but Colwyn's love for his princess fiancé gives him the power to shoot a fire beam at him (because prophecies). Presumably, all of the Slayers die because of this. Everyone else is okay.

Powers/Abilities: The Beast can use dark magic to slay and deceive those miles away from his black fortress.

Weakness: The power of love, apparently. Anything conventional can kill the Slayers.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Interesting powers for sure, but the Beast just looks like a generic Power Rangers villain, even if he does have an impressive booby-trapped abode. The spider is rather eerie, though.

Trivia: -Forty Slayer costumes were made for this film, with half of that being done in only ten days.

-The Beast's voice was provided by Trevor Martin, who was known for playing as Doctor Who in some theatre productions.

So, there's no need for that thing called "suspence"!

"Sir, are these things waterproof? Crabfoot is setting in!"
My imagination isn't that weak!

"I must be a main character to get a spot like this on the post...what do you mean I'm still a mook?!"

Hopefully, Colwyn didn't bring any arachnophobes.

"I'm going to be killed by a fancy frisbee! AUGH!"
